8K Ultra HD Northern Lights Timelapse Compilation from Churchill, Manitoba
I recently visited Churchill, Manitoba to go aurora chasing with some friends! We were there for seven nights and experienced aurora on almost all those nights - it was incredible! To get to Churchill, unless you want to spend $1400+ on a flight, you have to take a 16-hour train ride from Thompson, Manitoba and have someone pick you up at the station. Thankfully, we were staying with Ashley Park, who also runs an aurora chasing tour company out of Churchill, so we were good to go! By the way, if you are looking for the best in aurora chasing tours, make sure to check out her company, Parks Place, on Facebook!
For this timelapse I used the following gear:
Sony a7r2
Sony a7iv
Sony a7s
Sony 14mm f/1.8 GM
Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D
Sony 20mm f/1.8 G
Tamron 35mm f/1.4 SP
I processed everything in Lightroom and LRTimelapse and edited everything together with sound using Adobe After Effects. It was a lot of work, but in the end, I think it paid off! If you enjoyed the film, please let me know, and if you want to see other content, let me know as well! I am not transitioning solely to auroras, but it something I enjoy and I think it fits on my channel with my other astrophotography videos!

4k Ultra HD Real-Time Northern Lights Compilation from Alaska, Filmed on Sony a7 IV at 40,000 ISO
Переглядів 8 тис.2 роки тому
Hello, all! Here is a compilation of auroras I captured when I was up in Fort Yukon, Alaska last month. I really wanted to test how the new Sony a7 IV would handle extreme low-light situations. Most of the reviewers who test cameras really don't stress them enough - testing low light performance in a studio setting by just changing aperture and shutter speed to simulate low light really doesn't...
Arctic Auroras - 8K Ultra HD Northern Lights Timelapse Compilation from Fort Yukon, Alaska
Переглядів 116 тис.2 роки тому
I recently spent three weeks in Fort Yukon, Alaska to help with the NASA LAMP sounding rocket mission. While I was up there I enjoyed some spectacular auroras and had some time to put together this short timelapse film. This is a little different than the content I usually post on here, but with school, work, and photography, it's hard to find time for Apalapse. I hope to return to making educa...

Hey everyone! I'm starting a new series on my channel - Astro Lens Reviews. In these videos I will be taking some of the most popular astrophotography lenses and reviewing them, finding out if they're really worth all the hype, and also reviewing some of my own selection, lenses I feel like deserve a spotlight, either for their quality or their flaws. The fist lens I'm looking at is one I don't...

Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've uploaded a Camera Basics video! In this episode I go over dynamic range and try to explain it in an easy way. Let me know if the video helped and if you have any further questions! Dynamic Range is a tricky subject because it can get very technical very fast, but at the basic level, it's a simple definition. Thanks for watching and good luck with your p...

As much beauty as there is dangerous 😂..thats solar heat waves effect on electromagnetic plate of earth
Help i only see black :(
Thank you for teaching in easy way
is that house actually on fire in 0:29
Grandios 💪👋👋👋👋😳🤗🤗
Such a good explanation
The northern lights ate emeralds "gods throne" as mentioned in the Bible. Look it up. God's mountain was Mt. ZION aka north pole aka directly under the heavens
Full of mistakes. A common belief is that the sensors "sensitivity " changes according to ISO. This is NOT the case. The signal is amplified after the sensor circuitry.
Aperture and F-stop are inversely related
I watched about 20 videos on aperture back to back and this one helped the most. Thank you.
This is the best video I’ve ever seen. I don’t know how many times I watched it, I don’t know how many times I cried. Thank you. Thank you❤
Slight error. That 35 mm is not a diagonal measurement, it is the total width of the film, including the edges that have holes for manipulating the film's position. 35 mm camera film is exposed over an area that is 36 mm x 24 mm. There are also a number of APS-C lenses that will go down to 11 or 12mm without fish-eye distortion.
How does the battery last all night long?
Beautifully done
👍🏾
01:07 If you express F=stops as a fraction, then you can keep the correspondence between aperture, light, and F-stop: - bigger aperture = more light hitting the sensor = larger F=stop - smaller aperture = less light hitting the sensor = smaller F=stop F1.4 => F1/1.4 F2 => F1/2 F8 => F1/8 F16 => F1/11 Thus F1/1.4 > F1/1.2 > F1/8 > F1/11. Doing it this way makes it less confusing because you don't have be inverting it, e.g., smaller stop means bigger aperture.
Awesome !!!
I love the simplicity of explaining iso and aperature. thank you!
awesome video thank you!
can i drive to this place from the middle east ?
low dynamic range means low contrast?
The Holy Fire that does not consume 🙏🏾💞
Comforting and exciting at the same time 😮❤😊
Currently Canon RF lenses ? Do you have any recommendations, getting into the RF market and looking to give astro a try :). Thanks 14-35 F4 and 24-70 2.8 current lenses but looking at a prime.
What a great way to explain these concepts! Love this tutorial 👏
Oh look the Death Star
hi! Do you have any plans to make an updated version of this video? I am looking to buy a 35mm for astro (Nikon Z8 camera) and am trying to decide between the Nikon 35mm f1.8 S (mirrorless) lens and the Tamron 35mm f1.4 on the FTZ adapter. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
This is first time I heard this northern light really spectacular and Allah is everywhere
Want to see this in real for sure ❤
Thank you so much for making this video!
Que impresionante..que belleza!
Amazing! Just saw some northern lights down here in Alabama. We had an extremely rare and once in a lifetime viewing. Absolutely nothing compared to this. Our view was very faint to the naked eye, but cell phones could capture light you couldn't see. The phones made some amazing pictures..... I have a question. Does it really look like this to the naked eye?? Or is the camera making it look more bright?? You can see the whole ground light up in the video!
wonderful video
I wanna know how you edited it? How close to the raw footage is this?
Mejor q el vals de las hadas...eS ahora.. Ahhhhhhhh...... maravilla
Is there any copyright for this video?
Thank you for sharing this amazing event.
OH so this is the reason why my landscape shots are not sharp despite having perfect focus in the center. Shouldn't have used f4.
Thank u so much... Greetings from India...
the image on 2:50 really helped me understand the three things more!

Great content! I got a question though.. you said you used canon ef lens mounted on the sony a7r2...so that means, were you able to change the aperture electronically or not? Also what converter do you own?
Good
Disappointed thT Pentax is not mentioned! Yes, it’s far down the list, but some of the lenses are good. The cameras, K1 and K3, do not too bad.
